Happy New Year's Moments

So for some reason I get pretty sentimental on New Years. Tonight I stayed at home and my parents had some people over... I love the moments after the count down and the ball dropping. Kids blow horns and pop poppers. Couples kiss. friends and family hug and smile. I love to just sit back and watch it all happen. people are happy in that small moment. nothing matters but to be with the people you love. People are starting with a new beginning. a clean slate. I think it's a great idea.
I decided this year there are some things i would like to improve.
1. Less self pity. I need to be concerned with others and not myself. besides a girl never got what she truly wanted by moping about.
2. Judging by how much spell check had to help me out in that last sentence, i need to learn to spell.
3. Be a healthier person. take this lower sugar diet seriously and just get in some mild exercise.
4. Don't be so obsessive. Just be happy in the moment and realize nothing is in your control.
5. Love more. Love the people around me and don't live in a hardened shell.
I just need to learn to be happy with the person i am and not judge myself so harshly and be an open, happy person.
So being the stereotypical person i am, I am listening to Auld Lang Syne over and over again tonight. Go figure...
Whats your favorite thing about the New Year? and do you have any resolutions you intend to keep??

I think those are some pretty realistic resolutions. I'm all about the resolutions that actually give me a chance, yah know? In answer to your questions... my favorite thing about New Years is, well first it's the sparkling cider-who am I kidding? But really it's the chance to start again. I kind of look at it like our lives are in constant cycles and each year presents the opportunity to begin a new cycle. Last year I spent a lot of time moping around and waiting for things to happen in my cycle, this year maybe I can actually make some key decisions and make my cycle a productive and happy one. If you're really interested in resolutions that I intend to keep... they're on my blog. :-) I did pretty well for week one!
