Z-ville for life

ok, first things first... I've totally been a slacker on this blog and for that i apologize. but i also know there is only like a total of 3 people that even look at this.
Here are a couple pictures from when i went to see Gerry on my birthday weekend. :) just random and hanging out.

here are some pictures from when Gerry came to visit me at the beginning of July. We went to Cedar Point with my brother and his girlfriend, Chelsea. We went to Kirtland for the church sites. We went to the Y bridge (a Zanesville must) and of course to all the baskets which Gerry got a kick out of. :) enjoy.

ROAD TRIP!

So last weekend I went to California. I had the most amazing time.
I left Friday morning at 6 am. I drove and drove and drove. 9.5 hours later I arrived in Huntington Beach at 2:30 local time. The weather was beautiful, the drive wasn't bad and best of all, one of my best friends was there waiting for me. I was tired but so glad to be there. I met Gerry's family and we talked for a little while. We then went to blockbuster and rented some games and movies. After that we hung around with his younger sisters for a little while. Then Gerry took me out to eat. We went and saw Terminator after that. It was a really good movie.
Saturday I slept in a little, then I was woken up. We chilled around the house for a little while then went to the beach with his sister Jeanette. I LOVE the beach. We boogie boarded, swam, laid in the sun and got fried beyond belief. After 5 hours in the sun we headed back to his house. showered, got cute and then Gerry and I went to meet his friends Daniel and Lindsey. I had met them before. We went to a yummy restaurant then back to Daniel's to watch a movie. Once we got home, Gerry and I stayed up talking for quite a few hours. Then exhausted I fell asleep. Sunday morning I slept in then we went to his Single's Ward at 2. I met a bunch of his friends and even ran into some people that used to live in Columbus. There was also a guy who had served his mission in Zanesville and knew my family! We had dinner with his family and grandparents that afternoon then went to a fireside in Irvine. After that I played Killer Bunnies with some of his friends. We stayed up late talking again and then realized i needed to go to bed so i could drive back the next day. Monday we watched Horton Hears a Who while i finished up some homework. I went to In n Out for a burger since i had never had it, it was yummy, then chilled with Daniel for a little longer. then around 3 i left to drive back to Provo. I arrived in provo in the middle of the night and it was horrible. BUT i had so much fun.
so much fun that i'm going back next weekend. This time i'll take some pictures and i'll put them up here. stay tuned!

Goodbyes

So this week has been a hard one. I have had finals that were quite challenging and i've said good bye to many friends. Thursday I had to say goodbye to Rachel. I took her to the airport at 4:30 am so I could say goodbye. She then flew to Ohio. I've talked to her a lot but it's not the same and I miss her like crazy. She leaves for a study abroad in France tomorrow. :( I am not sure what i am going to do without her!Rachel... I miss you already.

Last night I said goodbye to one of my best friends, Gerry. We haven't known each other for very long but we became close very quickly. I could talk to him about anything and he was always there for me. We spent all of our spare time together and watched A LOT of movies. who am i supposed to watch movies with now?So... basically this post is saying if you want to be my friend let me know because i am running short on them right now...

Hare Krishna

Ok, so there is this festival in Spanish Fork that is called Hare Krishna. it was a couple weeks ago. basically it's a ton of fun and it's a festival of colors. "like crayola, not diversity" to quote a friend. it's how they welcome in spring and it is at a Hindu temple. so cool. I've been wanting to put up pictures but i've been a little lazy, so finally, here you go.
Me and Gerry BEFORE the color throwing.

Me and Gerry AFTER the color throwing

Here is Megan, Joanna, and Rachel. apparently we had a lot of purple and pink to throw.

Here is a glimpse of all the people. it was so crowded and awesome. There was music and they were doing a little chant thing. and there were crowd surfers.

Overall this experience was a blast. I had so much fun that day. I am totally doing it again next year.

Lu'au

So i haven't written here in a little while and a lot has happened! I will start with the Lu'au that Rachel Megan and I were in. We danced for the BYU lu'au the last week in March. it was amazing! Here are some pictures. the green outfits are from the Samoa section while the brown are from tahiti.
This is Rachel's cousin Allison, Me, Rachel, and Megan. We are hawt.

And of course in these scandalous outfits we had to make faces.

Some of my girls from Samoa section!

Our group :) I miss them already :(

This is my favorite picture from that night. i love the quote from Rachel "I seriously love this picture. It's the epitome of us. You trying to be gangster and me yelling about something irrelevant." and it's so true.

Well there was that and i think i will wait to post more pictures later. i have some from Hare Krishna and from when my friend Clint came to visit me. also... i should probably just write something on here. because this isn't a scrapbook. it's a blog... for to be writing on.

Look at what a good time everyone is having! smiling and thumbs up. This is my friend Gerry on the right. and i think on the left is a guy named Travis. i don't really know him.Courtney, me and Camille. We look so good.

All in all Rachel and I threw a rockin party... jealous you weren't there?

N I K K I

I have recently discovered I love when people say my name. When they say it, type it, write it. i love hearing/reading my name. I don't know what it is but when someone says goodnight to me and includes my name, it makes me feel special. When someone greats me by using my name, i feel loved. i know that it has been proven that a person's favorite word is usually their own name. and lately i've felt like that's true for me!
Also, I love writing my name. but i think thats a girl thing...

I know this post is short and stupid and you probably think i'm crazy but hey... it's after midnight. i should not be held accountable. :)

Rexburg

Ok, So this weekend Rachel and I drove to Rexburg to see Keely. oh my goodness i have had fun. :)
We left Friday night. Rachel and I stopped in Pocatello at a McDonalds. It was the creepiest little town I've ever been in. It was like 9:30 and very foggy. we passed a cemetery and thought we were going to die. it was terifying. Then we got to Rexburg around 10:15ish. Keely met up with us and we went to this dance party over by the K-mart... yes you heard me right... over by the K-mart. It was A LOT of fun. I enjoyed dancing the night away with Keely and Rachel. Watching Rachel shut down guys was the best. OH! and a black guy told me i was a good dancer! highlight of my night... Then we went back to Keely's apartment and talked until the wee hours of the morning.
Saturday we slept in which was GREAT! Rachel and Keely did homework and I just chilled. That afternoon we went to Idaho Falls or as Keely called it "I-F" :) We saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. It was a long but really good movie. Then we went shopping. FUNNIEST THING EVER- We were at Down East and there was a woman who called her kid over to her... GUESS HIS NAME... Korihor... She named her child Korihor... like the Anti-Christ. i didn't want to believe her. We got out of the store and were laughing so hard... hillarious. Then we went to ihop. yum! Once we got back to Provo we went to a house party over "on college" lol. aparently Rexburg is a small enough town that if there is a party everyone knows about it and everyone is there. It was packed. Fun for about an hour and a half and then we were out of there.
Sunday: Church this morning. it was really good. Then a 2 hour nap. :) We went to Keely's neighbors for dinner- mmmm... ham. We have played pit and mancala and we are currently watching Emperor's New Groove for the second time today. :) yay.
I go back to Provo tomorrow and I don't want to. It means i have to go back to normal life... shoot. work and school. I've had fun this weekend and i'm hoping that I can learn to balance more fun with school this semester.
What have you done with your holiday weekend?

A New Semester

ok guys, thanks for commenting on my last post... yeah right. i even asked a question and not one of you commented! and i also know that more than just Kristen reads it now too.
Anyway, I figured it was time for an update. I'm back in provo and there is snow everywhere... yuck. it took probably 3 hours to get to provo from the airport monday due to snow and rush hour. considering it's only supposed to be like a 40 minute drive that sucks. Thanks Brian for coming to get me. I appreciate all the extra time you took.
School has started and i think i'm going to have a hard semester. I have 2 psych classes that are about "testing and research methods" ie a lot of boring stuff that won't keep my attention. that sucks. i'm really going to have to try to pay attention. we also get to write lots of fun papers for those classes. joy. My other classes should be fun though. Its only the second week of school and my religion teacher is already giving us a day off. score! :)
ok so over break Rachel, James and I made sugar cookies and decorated them...

Rachel was really excited about that...

Then we got in a flour fight...

Oh and i can't help but put up james's picture that he took "for his myspace page" How great is this?

Happy New Year's Moments

So for some reason I get pretty sentimental on New Years. Tonight I stayed at home and my parents had some people over... I love the moments after the count down and the ball dropping. Kids blow horns and pop poppers. Couples kiss. friends and family hug and smile. I love to just sit back and watch it all happen. people are happy in that small moment. nothing matters but to be with the people you love. People are starting with a new beginning. a clean slate. I think it's a great idea.
I decided this year there are some things i would like to improve.
1. Less self pity. I need to be concerned with others and not myself. besides a girl never got what she truly wanted by moping about.
2. Judging by how much spell check had to help me out in that last sentence, i need to learn to spell.
3. Be a healthier person. take this lower sugar diet seriously and just get in some mild exercise.
4. Don't be so obsessive. Just be happy in the moment and realize nothing is in your control.
5. Love more. Love the people around me and don't live in a hardened shell.
I just need to learn to be happy with the person i am and not judge myself so harshly and be an open, happy person.
So being the stereotypical person i am, I am listening to Auld Lang Syne over and over again tonight. Go figure...
Whats your favorite thing about the New Year? and do you have any resolutions you intend to keep??
